Shrubs Farm can be seen at the centre of the aerial photograph. To the right, clearly marked by a line of trees, you can see the private road that connects us to the Bures / Lamarsh road. Note: as a private road this is not shown on maps and will not be picked up by satellite navigation systems. The private road is the easiest way to approach the farm.

Directions from London & Chelmsford

From M25, take Brentwood (A12) exit 28, towards Colchester. Continue on A12 past Chelmsford, Witham, Kelvedon and Marks Tey and take turning signed Cambridge (A1124). Turn left into Eight Ash Green (A1124). Take 2nd turning right to Fordham (Wood Lane) and continue (approx 5 miles). Bear left where road joins B1508 just after Wormingford. After 3 miles enter Bures, turn left after Eight Bells pub, signed Lamarsh. Follow road approx one mile - after 2nd dip turn left up private road (immediately after a large thatched cottage) sign-posted Shrubs Farm only.

Directions from Braintree & Halstead

In Halstead, take A131 towards Sudbury. After 2 miles, at crossroads, turn right, sign-posted Pebmarsh/Alphamstone etc. Go through Pebmarsh and Alphamstone until you arrive in Lamarsh. At T-junction, turn right and follow the road past the Red Lion Pub (on right) - over hill and take right turn sign-posted to Shrubs Farm.
From Colchester

Follow signs to station. At roundabout, take B1508 to Bures via Wormingford (8.5 miles). In Bures, turn left after the Eight Bells pub, signed Lamarsh. Follow road approx one mile - after 2nd dip turn left up private road (immediately after a large thatched cottage) sign-posted Shrubs Farm only.

Directions from Sudbury

Leaving Sudbury on A131 Halstead road, turn left at the bottom of the fill, signed to Middleton. After 0.75 miles, follow signs left for Lamarsh/Bures. Continue 4 miles, through Gt Henny and Lamarsh. Pass Red Lion Pub on right - over hill and take right turn sign-posted to Shrubs Farm.
